Rules for shelter rental:

The park areas & shelters may be reserved for small private events. Please note that all reservable park areas & shelters in the Village have a maximum capacity of 30 people.

  • Alcoholic beverages are NOT permitted in any Village park.
  • Inflatable bounce houses are not allowed on Village-owned property. 
  • If you reserve a shelter for a private event, please make sure to bag your trash and take it with you.
  • Most shelters may be reserved for MAXIMUM of TWO HOURS. The online reservation system automatically inserts 30 minutes before/after your reservation to allow time for set-up and clean-up so consecutive rentals are not available.
  • The Boathouse may be reserved for a MAXIMUM of FIVE HOURS. The online reservation system automatically inserts 30 minutes before/after your reservation to allow time for set-up and clean-up so consecutive rentals are not available.
  • Shelters may only be reserved March 1st through October 14th. They may be used November through February but are not reservable during those months.

They may NOT be used for private events without a reservation.

  1. Village of Mariemont residents may reserve shelters for $25. Non-residents are required to pay a $100 fee in advance.

  3. Make sure to include your name, your address, a contact phone number, and your email address. If you do not have a credit card or would like to pay by check you may call the Village office at 271-3246, option #3, to make a reservation.
  4. When your reservation request has been processed, you will be sent a confirmation receipt by email. Please print out this receipt and take it with you on the day of your event. You may be asked to show this confirmation to a police officer if there is any dispute over the use of the park/shelter. Be sure to check your spam/junk email box.
  5. If you reserve a park and/or shelter for a private event, please make sure to bag your trash and take it with you.
  6. If you are reserving the shelter in Dogwood Park and there is a Bell Tower concert in progress, please do not use the ball field. The noise at the ball field keeps concert-goers from being able to hear and enjoy the music. (Most concerts take place at 7 PM on Sunday evenings from Memorial Day through Labor Day and in the afternoon on holidays.)

The Clarence Erickson Shelter (at Dogwood Park)

Description: Covered shelter adjacent to enclosed Tot Lot playground with play equipment, close to soccer and baseball fields; no grills.

The Boathouse

Description: Covered and enclosed shelter, heating available (No AC), two restrooms, only accessible by steep steps. Not handicapped accessible.

  • Fire Pit (requires permission from Fire Chief with approved application)

Rental Time: Maximum of 5 hours, Minimum of 4 hours
*Rental Fee: $6.25/hour for residents, $25/hour for non-residents; $50 refundable deposit for all
Maximum Capacity: 35 (age 18 and under: 1 adult to every 5 children)
Parking: Small parking lot at Dogwood Park, limited street parking

Rental Requirement: You must print your rental receipt and bring it with you as proof of your reservation.

*In order to rent the Boathouse you must make arrangements with the Administration Office (513.271.3246, option #3), in addition to the online reservation, to drop off a $50 refundable deposit check and to pick up a key.

The Concourse

Please note: the Concourse is undergoing renovations in 2024.

Description: Semi-circular limestone and wisteria-covered structure with excellent view of the Little Miami River Valley. Ideal for photographic opportunities. This area is not covered, does not have grills, tables, or access to restrooms.

John Nolen Pavilion at Madisonville Site Park

Description: Stone, open-air covered shelter. Offers a view of the Little Miami River valley as it might have looked to its early inhabitants. No grills, no water fountain, no restrooms.

  • Nearby walking trails in the South 80
  • Adjacent to large open grassy area

Rental Time: Maximum of 2 hours
Rental Fee: $25 for residents, $100 for non-residents
Maximum Capacity: 30
Parking: Use the Mariemont pool parking lot

Ann Buntin-Becker Park
