The Village of Mariemont has adopted an updated ordinance, O-10-26, regarding dogs in public spaces to improve safety and consistency across our parks.

Key updates:

  • Dogs are not permitted to run at large.
  • When not on the owner’s property, dogs must be on a leash and under control, except as noted below.

South 80 Acres Off-Leash Area:
Dogs may be off leash at the South 80 acres only if:

  • The dog is under positive voice control
  • The owner has no prior violations
  • The dog is registered with the Village of Mariemont
  • A valid Village-issued ID tag is displayed

Registration is administered by the Mariemont Police Department and requires a one-time fee. Registration may be revoked for violations.

Additional reminders:

  • Dogs are not permitted in the enclosed Tot Lot at Dogwood Park (except service animals as permitted by law)
  • Owners are liable for damages caused by their animal
  • Violations may result in fines and escalating penalties

These updates take effect immediately. Please review the attached ordinance for full details.

Registration can be completed in-person at the Mariemont Police Department at 6907 Wooster Pike.

Thank you for helping keep our parks safe and enjoyable for everyone!
